Tulips and Windmills – 2012 – Hoorn

April 20 – Day 3 – William Schouten was the first man to round Cape Horn. Able Tasman discovered Australia’s island of Tasmania. Hoorn is a city known for seafaring and maritime heritage. Read my book, “Sailing Away,” to learn about some other history of the continents of Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean.

We went to Broekerveiling, the oldest vegetable auction house in the world. It was built on 1,900 wooden piles. The ship leaves tonight, don’t forget!
