Today, on our drive along a mountain road, we stopped and paid a short visit to Rabdentse, the former capital in the 16th century.

We also stopped at a local market in Rabongia and then continued into the semi tropical forests, cardamom plantations and small villages to Gangtok.

It is the capital now and sits on a high ridge in the Kanchenjunga range with wonderful views of the Ranipool River and the surrounding areas.
