We went out to see the rose gardens at Bushy Heath today. There are ruins there of a fine mansion built by an artist.

It became the headquarters of a movie studio in the 20’s and then was torn down as the family line ran out.

It was a beautiful building but sadly the owner only lived in it for ten years until he died. He had three wives and two of them were sisters. I think that might explain his somewhat early death.

The land fell into ruin and then ten years ago the gardens were rebuilt.

The Horse and Chains pub is at the top of the hill.

The area is very beautiful with many fine older homes.
