Chapter 10

Susan mad the call the next morning. She called the Active Travel agency and talked to a young woman on the phone. Susan hoped the paper work for Chad would be in her hand in a week.

“Hello, Active Travel Agency, how may I help you? Miss Black here.”

“Hello, this is Suzan Palmer. I want to schedule a trip with my fiancee to East Africa.”

“That shouldn’t be a problem. Let me check on the number of spots available. I’ll check. One moment please.”

The woman on the other end of the phone pulled up the list of reservations for the trip and scanned it. She noticed that there were several spots still open but also noticed something else.

“What is your name again?” There was a moments pause.

“Suzan Palmer.”

“Weren’t you scheduled on this trip already?”

“Yes, that’s right, but that marriage and honeymoon fell through. I’m calling to see if that spot is still open.”

“Well let me look again, just a moment. This is so confusing.” The woman looked down at her computer. She looked as if she were underwater. The blue glow light from the computer screen reflected on her white face.

She scanned the list and saw several names of people from various places from around the world coming on this particular vacation. She looked over the list of seats still available.

“We have some spots left. But your name is still on the list.”

“I see. I now need two more seats for the trip to East Africa. Disregard my name on the other reservation. I’m sure that will be handled later by my ex. We are no longer together.”

“We have two spots left, but this is very irregular.”

“I know, but don”t concern yourself with that.”

“Well, we do have two spots left for the trip beginning the 22nd of November. So we can add you and another person, but.”

“That’s great, I’ll take those seats.” The woman went silent and typed the reservations into the computer. She was paid for reservations filled. It wasn’t her problem if there was an issue later. “Great, you and your companion are now booked for the trip.”

“You already have my visa information on hand and my fiancee’s will be in your office shortly. November 22nd will be perfect. Thanks for your help with this.” “No problem Miss Palmer.”

The woman with the English accent put the phone down and looked at her workmate sitting next to her.

“I think we have a situation here.”
