Chad had just received a big bonus and a pay raise. If it wasn’t time to get married now, it never would be.

He had decided that Suzan was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. His mother was putting pressure on him at home, to find a suitable woman to marry as well.

Chad took a deep breath and thrust his right hand into his jacket pocket and pulled out a light blue box the size of a large, square ice cube like those floating in their drinks. He sat it on the table between the two of them and looked down at her. He towered over her as they sat at the table in the dark

She smiled as her heart raced and she opened the velvet box. She saw a large diamond and emerald ring sitting before her. She had seen rings like this one but knew deep in her heart that she never would possess one. Suzan looked down at the ring inside of the box. Her long held dream seemed to be coming true.
