Chapter 22
Todd Jacobson sat in his office and pushed the button on his computer. It buzzed to life. He tapped his fingers on his desk while waiting for it to boot up.
He looked at the page with the email addresses of all the proper authorities around the world on it. It was a very long list. He wasn’t known for patience at work or at home. He scanned the the list until he found what he had been looking for.
Todd had worked for the Department of Justice for several years now and with the securities and Exchange Commission for several months. He had been involved occasionally on other investigations with them but not as the head investigator. Now he was in charge.
The case, not the first, that had been brought against Williams Securities by the son of a wealthy, impaired client of Henry Williams.
The son had been tasked with caring for his father after a stroke. When he tried to access his father’s funds using his power of attorney, he was given the run around. He persisted and gained legal council who forced Williams to hand over all of the related documents.
When he eventually received the records, the numbers didn’t add up. His father was short half a million dollars. He then called the the New York Police Department at Precinct One who referred him to the Justice Department in Manhattan. The case number was 1:26-cr-00456LTS.
Initially Mr. Henry Williams was contacted and given a cursory interview, along with his two sons. The results were interesting but not Earth shattering. However some irregularities were discovered and electronic and human resources were brought to bare agains them with out their knowledge.
Their bank information had been intercepted and drones had been used several times to watch their movements for possible illegal activities and meetings. Drones were present at “the wedding of the year” a few days ago.
Todd had finally been given the green light by his bosses to contact Interpol in London, the police in Rwanda and other nearby African nations regarding the William’s Investigation. Chad’s honeymoon trip to Rwanda and other near by African nations made that a necessity now.
Todd would be contacting the Chief of the Kigali Police Department to set up surveillance teams on Chad and Suzan Williams while they were in Africa. Todd thought it would take some time and a good deal of red tape to put these in motion in Kigali, Rwanda.
As far as the Department of Justice was concerned, Henry Williams, Chad Williams and the younger brother were deep into a multimillion dollar stock manipulation scam and they needed help from the Rwandan authorities to watch as the new Mr. and Mrs. Chad Williams were coming to Rwanda for their honeymoon and perhaps more.
That’s why Todd found himself seated at his office desk in the middle of the night.

ChatGBT says my story needs to pick up the pace.
I like to create interesting characters with some depth.
In any case, more of this tomorrow.
