New Chapter
Detective Spencer was seated at his desk looking over the “Williams file.” The lights were still flickering in his office. He was wondering if they would ever get fixed. A tall man walked into Detective Spencers office. He was lean but muscular.
“Hey boss, Chad Williams and his fiancee have arrived at La Guardia. What’s our next move?” Richard Ames had been married for ten years and had a small daughter.
He had gone to Columbia University on a wrestling scholarship. His right ear told that story clearly. It had been damaged often over several hard years of wrestling. He was good looking except for that. He had worked hard at his studies and done well. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class. His wife was now a stay at home wife and mother.
Detective Spencer looked up from his desk and smiled. “I alerted Interpol in London and Kigali, Rwanda yesterday after you left. I ended up having a long chat with the Chief Detective in Kigali, Rwanda about our situation, last night. I was here until after 1:45 am. He is on board with help of any type we might ask for. We have a good plan put together, I think. He has a large force and men at his disposal. Some of whom might be willing to go on safari with Chad to keep an eye on him.”
“Aren’t we going to arrest them before they leave?” “No, we know where where they’re going and when they are going to return, so why bother. It give us more time to question those close to him without worry that they’ll reach out to him. It ill be impossible for them to talk to him while he’s out in the bush on safari. It was hard enough for me to get a call through to Kigali.”
“I see sir, good to hear it. But it’s too bad we just grab him now and get i over with.” “We could but this time he’s away will give us more time to get our ducks in a row. This is a complicated case and we need to get it right the first time.” “I guess your right Lieutenant Spencer, but this has been a long investigation and the guys are looking forward a few arrests.”
“All of us are Richard, but it has to be done right to make it stick. There are hundreds of victims and millions of dollars at stake. We might get some spoils back if we do this thing right. These people deserve to get some of their money back, if possible.”
The phone on Detective Spencer’s desk rang and he reached for it quickly. He had been expecting the call. “Hello, yes it is. I know. Yes, that’s exactly what we wanted. Thanks so much.”
Spencer looked up form his desk and into the eyes of Richard Ames. “Chad’s brother David, took the bait. His attorney has just called the office. He wants to come in for an informal meeting to discuss, some things.”
“Why did that happen?” We put a little bug into his attorney’s ear about a plea deal. David now may be seeing the handwriting on the wall. He thinks he may be going down and wants to talk about a deal. None of this would have happened if his big brother was in town, I can tell you that for certain.”

Well, I think things are going well with this. It is a slow process and Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I have many completed books on Amazon and Audible now. Come and take a look at the first chapters here.
