Saturday the 8th – Day 9 – At one time, the main streets of Bangkok were klongs, or canals. Today many parts of the city can be seen from canals.
We took the full day trip to the floating market at Damneon Saduak by boat and to Nakorn Pathom, a city and province of Thailand to see the Chedi, or stupa which houses a buddha and then on to the rose gardens.
We also went to the Cultural village to see elephants working and we watched the wonderful Thai dancing. The women have their fingers bent back farther than normal from childhood to prepare to dance in the Thai manner.
As always, talking to strangers is advised and you will always meet someone who’s family has moved to America.
