We slept until 11:00AM. The trip was 9249 miles to Kigali from L.A.
The food service and flights were fine. I wouldn’t be writing this if the flights weren’t successful. But why has LAX been such a mess for so many years? Why isn’t there a train going to the airport like in many other nations? Inept politicians, of course.
Our driver from the airport in Kigali to the hotel spoke perfect English. His van was immaculate.
We took our Malaria medicine again this morning. We have protein bars for breakfast for the entire trip. I am trying not to gain weight. We have a few days until our tour officially begins.
We went down to the pool for a look see and perhaps a swim. The water is not heated but we went in anyway. The pool is large and refreshing. Many other folks passed by and later, others joined us in the pool.
We had dinner on the flight in last night so we didn’t need dinner. We have looked over the restaurant offerings today and will eat Indian food at the hotel tonight.
I have talked with a few employees here. They seem friendly and seem to have a good grasp of the English language. As I walked by the desk, I asked about our tour. Still no one knows what is happening.
We have a list of our fellow travelers so I will come down from our room later today and try to track them down, if possible.
We are a group of two men and seven women. But we are only seven here in Rwanda to see the gorillas.
The other two people will join us in Kenya.
