More of Chapter Twelve

His blue eyes gleamed in the dark restaurant like beacons. When shall we go?”

“Well Chad, the weather is perfect for the next month and a half,” Suzan suggested. “We could get our visas and be on our way in a few weeks. You have a passport don’t you Chad?” she said in a joking manner.

“Of course I do Suzan. I travel often internationally for work and pleasure, as you might suspect due to my work in finance and economics.”

“I know Chad, I was joking. Great then Chad. Let me get the paper work to you to fill outand I’ll get the visas ordered. Suzan didn’t tell Chad that she already had hers.

Chapter Thirteen

Suzan made the call the next morning to The Active Travel Agency and talked to a young woman on the phone. Suzan hoped the paper work for Chad’s visa would be in her hand in a week.

“Hello, Active Travel, how may I help you? Miss Black here.”

Hello, I need to schedule a trip with my new future husband to East Africa for our honeymoon. I am already scheduled on another trip to Rwanda with my ex, Joe Monroe. But I need to reschedule and with Chad Williams this time.

The woman’s eyebrows lifted as she looked at her girlfriend working next to her. “Let’s take a look here in my files. The woman pulled up the file on her computer and looked it over. A few moments passed. That shouldn’t be a problem. What’s your name again?” “Suzan Cline, but the information on my trip with him is under Joe Monroe.”

“Yes, I’ve found the file. Oh, I see he is traveling as a single now. But your ticket is still active. If you wish to come on this trip, there is still room for two more. All you need to do is pay for your new ticket and you’re all set.”

“Well, that’s interesting. I need another ticket for my husband Chad and I am now Suzan Williams or will be at the time of the trip.”

“Yes, that’s fine. I can change that easily. Wait just a second as I type it in.” A few moments went by. We still have seats open if you want to tell some friends. it’s always more fun to travel with someone you know.”

Suzan now knew Joe might be on this trip. She wouldn’t tell Chad, of course. She didn’t think traveling with Joe on the trip would add to the fun.

“Okay, I’m filling out the info for your husbands ticket now. Let me double check on the number of seats available. Sorry, I need to hand you off to my associate for a moment.” Another woman come onto the phone.

What was your name again?” “Suzan Cline.” I’ll check, just a minute.” “Wait, this has all been cleared up already.” The woman didn’t hear her. She was off the phone looking something up. The woman pulled up the list of reservations for that trip and scanned over it.

“Weren’t you already scheduled on this rip with Mr. Monroe?” “Yes, that’s right but that trip fell through. I have already gone over this with your fellow employee.”

“This is so confusing. The woman looked at her computer. She looked as if she were underwater. The blue glow from the screen reflected on her white face. She scanned the list and saw several names of people from various places around the world coming on this particular trip. We have twenty two spots filled and your name is still on the list.

“Disregard my name on the other reservation. I’m sure that will be handled by my ex.” “The woman was getting more confused.

Suzan spoke up. “This has already been changed.”

“But you are still in the system under the previous reservation.” “Yes, that’s why I’m calling. Your coworker had this all figured out. Get her back on the phone, now. Mr. Monroe and I are no longer traveling together.”

“This is all very irregular.”

“I know, but don’t concern yourself with that.”

The other woman was then back on the phone. “Sorry, personal emergency. Kids these days.”

“So are we clear that Chad Williams is now going on this trip with Suzan Williams?”
