Suzan loved spending time with her future in-laws and was learning a good deal about the long history of the family.
The family had owned the house for several decades. Chad had grown up there learning to swim and play tennis right on the grounds. His private school was near by. His life not unlike that of many royals in Europe but he remained grounded in his behavior.
He had many life long and trusted friends and two confidants. One was a woman named Laura. They had gone to high schol and some college together. They had kept in touch and talked often.
The priest opened his book as Suzan walked down toward him to the music between the two large groups of white, wooden, folding chairs and those who sat in them.
The service was intended to be short. No one likes sitting out in the sun too long, even when the weather is perfect as it was today. The ceremony was longer than the family had hoped for but shorter than most expected.
Promises were made by the young lovers to each other as they stood in front of God and family. Most of them would be kept. “That is the hard part about marriages,” or so the priest had said.

Yes, that is the hard part, but don’t do it if you aren’t ready.
More soon. I’m off to Palm Springs. If you happen to stop by, leave my cloths, please.
