“Well, in a day or two, Chad and Suzan will be out in he bush and away from any cell towers. That’s when will talk to Bryan. He won’t be able to contact his brother for a week or so.
They have a hundreds of staff in the big office downtown and two long time managers running things. Big daddy only comes in on Fridays to pick up his check.
“What’s he pulling down on a weekly basis now Mr. Simms?”
“Thirty grand is his weekly take but he’s bringing inn millions more with his scheme as far as we can tell. we know he’s laundering some of it but haven’t figured our how or where yet. He must have a bank working for him downtown.”
“You’re right about that, but we haven’t traced those accounts yet either. I think we’re getting closer however. We’ve eliminated several banks over the last few weeks. Rhonda’s team os on that.”
“Yes, she’s a smart cookie and has some good folks working with her.”
“Yes, thanks to you.”
“Thanks boss, but you picked the team so I guess you get the credit for that.”
“We’ll, it’s always a team effort round here. I just wish the papers understood that and gave credit to the others working on thses possible illegal activities.”Thomas case, they are pissed.”
“Yes, they’re famous for holding grudges. Too bad we can’t print up a list of all their mistakes and put them in a paper. What hypocrites they are. Few check on their mistakes compared to what we have to do to prepare a case for trial. Everything we do is under a microscope.”
“Yes, but thankfully we have we have our contacts in the press, as well. It’s been years sine we penetrated them and it has payed great dividends, now and then.
Remember the Capitol Reflecting Pool incident, to name just one?”
“Yes, that was hum dinger. We got rid of one thorn in our side form Congress and two from the Times.”
“Maybe that’s why they watch us so closely now?”
“I guess but that’s the price we must pay for success.”
Well. were are back but still not completely ourselves. A month in India in a different time zone makes coming home and getting back into the swing, difficult.
