We took the bus ride out to the Monastery at Meteora. It is only able to be entered after going up in a basket hauled up by ropes.

The building is filled with ancient artifacts that are fascinating and valuable. No photos of the relics please. You will just have to come here to see them.

It was full of stacked monk heads as most monasteries are. What else would you expect. The monks check in and don’t check out, except by death I suppose. Saint Steven is pictured here in a painting.

The ancient building is on the top of a spire of rock for protection from those of other religious persuasions I suppose.
