We traveled to the Ancient site of Olympia and the Temple of Zeus.

The ruins were interesting and beautiful as always. They remind us of the power and intelligence of man and his frailties.

These giant buildings were brought down by enemies or earthquakes over millenniums. I think the builders would be sad and surprised that their monuments had been destroyed and the builders, long forgotten.

We visited the altar of Hera where the Olympic flame was lit just a few thousand years ago. We passed under the stadium arch to see the original site of the olympics.
