The House on the Cliff – Oct.31, 2019

I am finished with a little story about a haunted house. It seemed a good time to do it with this holiday at hand.

It went well and is about fifty pages long so. I’m not sure if it is a long short story or has a possibility of becoming a novel yet. Time will tell.

It took on a life of its own and turned out quite funny.

All my novels are on Amazon and free in the Kindle Lending Library.

Read first chapters of all my novels.

I am now on Facebook at R.C. Hand.

Please remember to donate to your favorite charities this holiday season. They need help more than ever.

I don’t know what we can do with this homeless situation, but I think sending emails to your state and local officials and telling them to fund mental health clinics and sober living places is the only way to help to end this problem.

Feeding the homeless does not create shelter for them. Feeding and creating shelter for them only brings more homeless into the areas where the shelters may be located.

What about the quality of life for everyone else? What about the safety of families and children. You have no idea who these people are.

The L. A. Times recently said that 76% of those on the streets suffered from these two issues. That is no surprise to me.

Only our inept officials seem to be unaware of the underlying problems or are not interested in fixing the problem.

The state of California used this issue to pass rent control here. Rent control is not the answer to the lack inexpensive housing. Over regulation is the reason we have a housing shortage, as well as expensive land and high taxes.

Granted, land is expensive in California because the climate is lovely. The corrupt and inept government will eventually make it impossible to live here for most people. Only the very wealthy and the poor will be able to live here in the future.

The more housing you build, the cheaper it gets. Supply and demand is always the driving force that controls the cost of anything.

Why do we have these forest fires? Firstly, the California and local governments have allowed building in areas that aren’t safe to build in because they want more taxes. Secondly, the California government has failed to do controlled burns for decades due to the environmental lobbies. Any fool knows that fire is the refreshing force to a healthy eco system in the forest.

Then they allow their buddies, the utility companies, to let the forest and brush grow around and around poorly maintained systems. Then they are surprised by the giant fires. How stupid are they.

All you have to do is vote for a change, a big change.

We have the money to remove all of the dead beetle damaged trees from the forests and they have done nothing.

I could go on for pages, but I don’t want to be a downer.

Just vote every time you get a chance and try to help make a difference.
