We went to the DMZ from both the South and the North. This is looking across the DMZ to the Northern side.
The stories we were told were very different, of course.
The Capital of South Korea is within easy reach of the North. It isn’t very far at all.
When one enters the blue room at the DMZ from the South, all of the Northern guards leave with their tourist groups.
When you enter the blue room from the North, the Southern guards leave with their group of tourists.
They do not speak.
I must say that our guide tour guide was an expert on the Korean War. He had stern and serious conversations with the northern minders and guides.
It made me nervous, but all ended well.
