Sept.24
We have arrived safely in Turkey. We left LAX in the early morning. The California fog is still with us. The airport is a mess, as usual. New construction and traffic. They just never seem to get it right. I have traveled through many airports and LAX is one of the worst. It is a long flight, to Turkey, to say the least. Thirteen hours. It wasn’t awful. The weather was fine. The food and the service was very nice.
I am reading Jack and Jill by James Patterson on the flight. We listened to several of his books on our trip to “Four Cornes” a few years ago. Now sadly, new cars no longer have CD players. Now we must adapt to new technology. I’m not a fan of change but I must learn to cope with the changing world around me.
I still like reading from a real paper book but there are those who do love to listen to books. Thus, two of my new books are on Audible. They are “Sunrise, Sunset,” my book of short stories and “Kazu, son of Oshida Kamasaki,” my ancient Asian adventure romance story. “Grandpa Ernie’s Secrets,” my spy thriller unfolding in Italy with a female lead is in audio production now.
We are off to Rwanda in a few hours. We are in a very nice the lounge reading while we wait to load our next plane. Anything you might want to eat or drink is available at no cost. Well, as we all know, nothing in life is free. You always pay one way or the other. I just had a Turkish snack called “Gozieme” which is like a crape cooked on a grill and filled with different items of veggies and cheese. I believe that video is on Facebook.
There are many old photos and videos of my previous trips plus some new ones from this new adventure on Facebook and Instagram at R.C. Hand.
Between company from England and jet lag, I have not been very productive of late. That will change soon. “”The Bad Seed” is done and will be up on Amazon soon. I started “Joe in Africa” on vacation. I think it will be an interesting murder mystery. It is now well underway.
I will put up more from my diary everyday. Thanks and be well, R.C. Hand.
