I want to talk about the bath mats.

That is correct, the bath mats.

I have “family” in Japan. They like foot stimulators. You know, those wooden foot shape torture devices for making your feet happy, or not.

Well, the bath mats here are very similar. They are like a bed of nails and they seem to be in all of the hotels for some odd reason.

I don’t care for them very much. They do wake you up however. Perhaps that is their purpose.

Perhaps the hotels use them to get us to leave after our room reservation has expired. I suppose they know that we will be unwilling to leave these lovely spots in Central Asia unless we are “prodded” to go on our way.

These bath mats do that very efficiently.
