My wife, my 15 year old son and I went to Singapore in 1995 while on a trip to China and Japan.
It was a beautiful place with great vistas and wonderful, hard working people from many different nations. It was clean and well organized.
Are you familiar with Raffles Hotel and the “Singapore Sling?” It was created at the long bar in the early 1900s. It is made with Gin and is a pink color.
It is made with gin, cherry randy, Bénédictine, an herbal liqueur made in France which is flavoured with twenty-seven flowers, roots and spices, pineapple juice, lime juice and bitters.
I don’t drink alcohol, but it sounds interesting
We had a wonderful time.
I want to thank all the people of Singapore who have been coming to my website recently.
We were traveling with a group of Canadians, so how could we not have a great time. They seem always to be in a great mood and ready for anything.
We had dinner with a different couple from our group every evening. One couple we ate with were interesting as the wife spoke very much like we do and the husband said “eh” at the end of every sentence.
We mentioned it to his wife. She mentioned that she had never really noticed before.
At breakfast the next morning, she stated that she had now noticed it and it was driving her crazy.
Ops, sorry sir.
I hope they are still happily married, but I have no way of knowing. Isn’t it interesting how a little thing we might do can change someone’s world.
I guess that is worth remembering.
I hope you enjoy my travel stories and the first chapter of each of my novels here.
Hopefully we will all be able to travel freely in the near future.
Thanks again to everyone in Singapore and stay well, R.C. Hand.
