Jan.21, 2020 – A look back

I am probably one of the luckiest people in the world.

I’ve done more, seen more and lived better than I could ever have imagined.

I came from a place where my possibilities seemed very limited. Luckily, I was too stupid to be afraid to try to do things that seemed impossible.

I took on more than a man half as smart as I would have ever tried to do.

I have seen the sunrise in Zimbabwe and the sunset in North Korea.

I have been to places people just dream of going to.

I have survived plane rides in places too wild and too far away to imagine.

I have a great wife and family and am safe and fairly sound.

We only get one chance at this life, so make it the best one possible.

Take all you can from it, and give back more than you think you should.

When you feel sorry for yourself, count your blessings and remember all those that have helped you get to where you are.

If you want more from this life, work harder and smarter and then go have some fun.

Take risks and believe you can do it, what ever it is.

If you don’t, you will never know what you could have accomplished.

If you do all of these things, when the time comes for the ultimate journey, you will have no regrets.

When you look in the mirror and see a person who has tried and failed and then tried again, be proud of yourself.

Succeeding isn’t what makes a person complete. Trying to do something that you think is impossible and doing the best you can is what life is all about.

Just be the best possible version of you. That’s all that is necessary.

Those who love you and know you will gladly accept that.
